EWWW!!!! ICK ICK ICK!!! We had a small amount..the twins lasted about 15 mins. Next day, C found a non melted patch and they lasted 15 mins. We are SOUTHERNERS!!!!!
My " winter sux" is we FINALLY got the heat working.......on Fri. It had been out since Dec 30. So.......the water main broke yesterday so no water. Water gets back on last night with a boil alert. Yeah!!! So......1PM today another water main breaks........and no water. I have space heaters and a back up kerosene heater. I had JUST put more water in storage, even COUNTING that it was another 12 1/2 gal.....and walked back into the kitchen, turned water on and.......NADA. Tomorrow I do dishes anyway with a slug of bleach in the rinse water. Okay.....I am still happy. I have not lost my cool. However.........I am starting to get a wee tad testy about Rat Man starting to call every few days...beginning with calling me to bail him out of jail. Umm..not likely happening.......GO AWAY!!!

Liebrecht I heard the south got hit. Hope it gets fixed soon. Same old here. My 4 wheel drive got stuck. I was getting out the driveway. Mostly didn't learn how to use it yet. Haven't had car that long and before you ask.... no there wasn't an owners manual with it and we didn't get one yet. Who knew forcaster would be right about the winter this year.

Yep......a lot of the south did get hammered but we got maybe 1/2 inch in spots. Just enough for Twin 2 to make a snow angel.....and have the grass come thru quite well.It was also a very dry snow so they could not make decent snow balls thus a lot of tossing handfuls of snow ( nobody hurt the other guy). I had kerosene, water, food, flashlights, etc so if it HAD hit, we would have been happy and warm and comfy. Thanks for thinking about us! Sorry you got hammered tho!!!!

Six inches of snow, half an inch of ice, and another two inches of snow in western PA. Might start to melt on Thursday.
It's funny watching the kids try to stand on top of the ice crust in the mornings. Tried to explain about "blood snow" to them... Maybe they'll get it when the ice is thick enough to cut someone's shin open. Or when they have to walk a little farther through unbroken mess.
The dog learned REAL QUICK to walk in my tracks.
Will I be glad to see the end of this?? Probably. Do I really want summer to come back?? Not really. My brain shuts down at 82 degrees.

How's everyone holding up. Still have the winter time blues. I see the south and northeast are getting hit again. We are actually having a heat wave. ...plus in the double digits and sunny. Just keeping an eye on my forsythia to start blooming. Be safe and warm everyone.

Snow is a dirty 4 letter word. And we got hammered. Up to the middle of the van's hub caps. Power went out at 4:30 AM.......and G screamed his banshee scream to let me know. The little kids DO NOT like the dark. Then the smoke detector in my room detected my oil lamp. Out came a ladder and down went the detector.
Anyway.....power just came back on at 2 ( so not SO bad) but it just messes with my schedule. If I wanted SNOWWWWWW, I would have chosen to live in the frigid North.
Upside.......we have water ( city and stored)...check, toilets flush, kerosene heater and oil lamps and flashlights......check...new camp stove in my dressing room to make coffee......worked like a charm.....gas grill....fine for lunch....dinner would have been easy also. I had a full tank of gas so turned the van on to thaw it and as a last resort, let the kids watch movies in there. Van has a TV and VCR player.
We did not have to go to the propane fireplace logs ( level 2 ) or wood fire in the playroom ( level 3). Water is great. Food a non issue other than maybe thawing<smile>. Now......let it thaw tomorrow ( as planned) and then dry out.

Rofl....but sheeze....sounds like some there I never heard of. 2 more inches coming to mid west now. Uncle already. How many days till spring.
Mc I saw 49 of 50 states have snow now..my fla friends and family are saying hhehr

We passed two feet a while back. I haven't ventured into the unplowed snow in weeks because my boots only go up to my knees. Got another 7 inches the past few days, but I've yet to get out and shovel our 200' driveway. Been hit hard with some sort of virus. Sick as a dog. Oh well. Not like anyone will be using it any time soon. I'll get to it eventually.
Can't wait for spring. I keep looking at my new garden plot and drooling. Warmer weather won't come soon enough for me!

Well they've changed our forecast and we are due for 2" to 4" of snow on Monday and I'm glad. It was originally freezing rain.
Mine says showers late tonight do again I have to go work in it

I bet you ladies up north would make a killing selling snowballs online. Ship them down south with dry ice. I'd buy one... or several. I've actually looked online for them. Figured it would be a killer family gift to get to head outside for Christmas and have a real snowball fight with my guys. lol
You could give each product a catchy name...

Hey NectarNook, what's the jobs picture look like in Wisconsin?? Know if there might be work for a mechanical engineer who specializes in HVAC around Green Bay, or maybe over on the west side of the state by Minneapolis??
I'm probably going to bury one grandmother this summer or fall; when the other one is gone we are outta PA. Right now Wisconsin and Maine are the frontrunners.
If you didn't already live there, would you move there??
