For those of you that might be interested in building houses, bridges and other stuff without the use of a calculator, the Smoley's Three Combined Tables might be a good asset.

This book has already done a lot of the math for you. Back before calculators, this book is what engineers would use to build bridges, houses, and ships. Its kinda like a calculator, but on paper.

I bought my copy around 1988 from a local college book store. At that time,the Smoley's Three Combined Tables was a real college course. Lamar College in Beaumont taught a course on how to use this book as part of their engineering classes.

When I find my copy I will post a picture of the inside of it.
