Silver is up over a buck and gold is up over $20... Whats up with that? Not trying to guess the market but curious to see the cause of the spike...

Silver

For quite sometime silver/gold has risen and fallen in synch with the stock market. NOT SO TODAY, as it's contrary top it. Market down. precious metals up. I hope they have broken "out" from the market. If they have we might see quite a rise in prices.

Wow, I was caught by surprise when I saw the big move up.

Granted, I am new to pms but that jump was fairly big and quick. It is no where near the $10 drop we saw happen in 2 to 3 day period a couple of weeks ago.

Anybody know what happen? Could it have anything to do with what the Pope stated yesterday or was there other news today? With work and family time, I can't always stay up with all the days news.

Back to safe havens. Market bubble shows signs of bursting, sooner than I thought. . Still haven't covered my summer short in netflix, feel they will go bankrupt, maybe soon. Stocks like Apple and Amazon have a LONG way to crash. All bubbles burst, and we're in the last stages of one now. Hope grupon goes IPO so I can short it after the quick hype run, that one's a no brainer. Facebook too. Like Hula hoops, Crocks, folks, hyped crap for stupid people, with short business life expectancy...

see-saw

when stocks go down, bonds and PM's go up. That's the natural order of things.

I'll wait and see. If it goes or looks like it's going to go up above $35 again, I will buy some more tomorrow. I have a few hundred set aside for just such an occasion. If not, then I'll wait until payday and get my usual allotment.
