I bought the Sig. I have Springfield XDM Elites for duty size, and I love my Ruger SR, but neither the Hellcat, nor the Ruger LC9 was even close to the Sig. Realistically, the S&W Shield Plus was the closest to the Sig, I’d give it a look before deciding. In my hands, the sights and grip angle were better on the Sig, but in other peoples hands that may not be true.

Bonus on the Sig…for $50 you can buy an XL grip frame, and have the option of more grip and more capacity in the grip.

And a plus one for Mag Gutz, I use the flush fit 10, now 12, in the gun, with 15 in the reload.

What’s your opinion on the comparing the triggers of the 365 and the shield plus?
The Shield Plus has an excellent trigger, as good as the Sig, though different. I prefer NOT bladed triggers, but it was one of the best of the type that I've used, with the META trigger by Springfield at #1.

If it had pointed better, I would have bought it. But the Sig worked better for me, and has an even better trigger for my use.

I tried 4 different Hellcats, and every one had a crappy trigger. It makes no sense to me, seeing as how Springfield CAN make a good trigger. Maybe newer models have improved?

What does the X model offer over the standard 365 ?
The X is cut for a red dot, and has the XL grip frame, but keeps the shorter barrel and slide of the original.

For $50, you can make the P365 into an X sized gun, but then you'd still have to get the slide cut.

I liked the gun so much, I just bought a complete X slide from Sig. I have an XL grip as well....so with a FCU, barrel and spring, I'd have another complete gun. 🤣

It's a 3.0 trigger, better than any stock striker Smith trigger. I've shot it side by side with 365s, Glocks, other Smiths. Best each time. Next to a Glock trigger, no contest. Next to the 365, the Smith trigger was a bit better.
I'm not sure I'd call the Smith trigger "better", but I would definitely say "as good as" the 365 but in a different way. ;)
I can see people that like to ride the reset and are used to the blade preferring that trigger; it is excellent.

I will never argue against anyone buying the Smith Shield Plus. (y)

An aside on the bladed triggers....the Springfield META trigger is also excellent, so much so that I own two of the XDm Elite pistols for my duty sized guns.

I never got into the newer Sig 365/320. In fact I haven't bought a gun in 6 or 7 years. Everytime I want a new gun I look at my Glock and ask myself, "Is that gun better/more effective than a Glock?
After answering that question 99% of the time with "Yes, and it's also more ergonomic, and, oh look, it's also cheaper", I've quit asking it.:)

The one time a Glock got the nod was the G20....but then the other guys got busy making their 10 mm handguns, so the G20 now resides with my SIL, while I have the XDm Elite, which is yet again "better and more effective than a Glock."

As for SEAL's, or military, their pistols are generally last ditch defensive weapon if their long gun fails, so their mission is different from ours as civilians. Otherwise we'd all be carrying HK MK23's or something. The way things are going we prolly should be... ;)
Ain't THAT the truth.(y)

Some of the SEALS that do the Tactical Hyve Youtube stuff are P365 fans in the civilian world of concealed carry.

As for the last ditch defensive weapon, in the absence of a Mk23, a P226 is a nice alternative.;)
Bonus, I bought a .40S&W 226R, so I have the rail, and I can barrel swap to the .357 Sig, and with mags and a spring for full reliability, go 9 mm as well.

How is your guys's accuracy shooting the micro compact handguns versus shooting something like a compact G19?

Are those Micro Compact 9mm really Snappy also?
They are plenty accurate at the anticipated SD ranges. Good sights (or a red dot) and good triggers matter more than where your pinky fits on the gun. Mag dumps into a torso A-zone at 10 yards aren’t too hard.

They are snappier than a duty sized gun, but not as snappy as a pocket polymer 380 or a sub compact .40.

I picked up a Sig P365 at the start of the pandemic. I was tempted to trade my Ruger LC9s Pro for it. I'm glad I didn't as I couldn't get the P365 on target. All my shots were going low. 3 mags into it I gave up. I've been shooting pistols since 1997 if I cant hit get on paper or on a steel gong in a couple magazines, that gun is going away. I had no problems selling it for what I had into it.

A few months later a friend of mine brought his Sig P365XL with RDS over to the house. Oddly enough, I had no problems hitting my target with that gun.
Sounds like someone doesn’t understand the combat hold sight picture. 😅
