SHTF Scenario 5, Make your vote count!

Ok, before you vote, here is the scenario for a SHTF Situation:

As described in most religons, the world starts to errupt all at once. Volcanoes have erupted, earthquakes happening everywhere in the world, hurricanes forming and threating coastal cities, tornados touching down in most of the middle US, and snow storms blanketing the north!

Things all around us are now happening at moments notice, mother earth is kicking hummanity back in the buttocks! Better to stay bugged in, better to bug out? What can you do to protect the family & friends with you? If all the US is under one threat or another, should I really bug out?

So many questions for so many disasters at one time, what could you do to survive?

Really depends what kind of disaster...
Volcano? Bug out.
Hurricane? Bug in.
Floods? Bug out.
Tornadoes? Bug in.

For all of the above, Pray for mercy.

All those are happening at once? So it's basically "the end of days".... I'm going to pray and then sit on the front porch with a bottle of Jack and watch the world come to an end.

Stay put. You know what to expect from your local disasters and are more likely to be prepared to deal with them. I personally live in a hurricane prone area and I'm as prepared to deal with that as I can get. It's always better to deal with a known problem than an unknown. As with everything there are exceptions. For instance, if you live near or on the coast and tsunamis are expected then you must try to get to higher ground. Simply going inland a few miles will improve your survivability. As with any scenario, you must stop and evaluate the situation and calmly make a plan of action.

Stay there and deal with the local disaster. At least you know the area.

But if stuff gets that bad......
#1. Empty a 6 pack.
#2. Bend over real far and kiss a certain body part goodbye.
#3. Find a member of the opposite sex who believes they're gonna die and then weather it out. Hey ;) best odds I ever seen (Considering even just my dating success ratio).

We are able to maintain ourselves for a much longer time, independant of the governments or others, if we stay home. We are prepared to leave if we must, but can only carry alimited amount of supplies and equipment if we leave, which limits our endurance without resupply. In addition, we know our neighbors, and expect to help each other through "hard times". At home we can go about two years with no problems, on the road we can only go 6-8 months.
We stay put if at all possible.
Best answer so far!

i said bug in i know the area and thats were most of my preps are:thumb:
Bug in, in most cases. My preps are mostly at home and it would be inconvenient to move all or most of them for an extended disaster. Especially considering transportation issues at that time. All of my extended family lives within 30 minutes of my home also so we could band together for travel and survive abroad for quite a while if we had to. However, if it really is and "end of days" scenario I would just enjoy what time I had left with my family for as long as I can and hope my particular beliefs pan out in the end.

I'm with ya except for the coffee. How about some good Navy Flake and a big mug of Darjeeling, or a good single malt.
