Should I sell this red dot?

A few weeks ago I ordered a few things and among one of those things was a utg red dot but my order was not shipped because I later found out two of those things weren't in stock. I was going to cancel the order a week later but then I find out it was shipped but in the mean time I had already bought a browning buckmark red dot sight for 70$(Yes I know I overpaid) The utg has less of a ''starburst'' affect and I like it more even though it cost less. Should I just sell the buckmark and save the money or should I keep it for use on a later gun purchase???

Imo, it depends, if you are using the gub for a basic plinker, the utg is ok, i have used the same red dot from utg, and if you have the same one i think you do, it runs on a cr2032 button battery, the life on that device is about 50 hours. I suggest picking up a more quality optic, but if you are just plinking, i guess the utg is ok.

i doubt you'll be able to sell either of them.. honestly.. ive spent way to much money on cheap dot sights.. its personal opinion.. but id say if you can sell them both... do it.. and put the money towards an aimpoint.. cant beat 3-10 year battery life.

I know that it's pricey, but if you can, buy anything from EOTECH. My best friend is recently out of the Navy and let's just say that he was an operator in the most elite unit. He has been helping me put together some optics for two different AR's. Apparently, EOTECH is really all that unit uses. The price tag reflects that, but quality and durability is ALWAYS number one in my book...

I would get an eotech but I HATE them. Every eotech I have looked through has been blurry as hell! Even with both eyes open... I really want a trijicon reflex sight though. I dont mean granulated I mean like starbursting and blurry!

What are you planning on putting these, or any, red dots on?

I will go on to say that, while there is nothing wrong with trying to find a budget optic, more often than not you will either find yourself continually purchasing "budget optics" and spending more in the long run than you would on a singular, yet pricey, quality optics purchase.

You might spend $3-400 in budget optics until you realize you want or need an Aimpoint/EOTECH/Trijicon...when you could have just been patient and gotten one from the start.

Also, do not discount the merits of becoming proficient with your iron sights first...you may even find that you are sufficiently capable with just irons.

Blurry? What? Really? What, the glass? Moisture inside? I have a couple different sights by EOTECH and they're perfect. Their even waterproof to 60 feet. Damn, well... hmmm Trijicon makes some good stuff so... I'll have to ask my friend who is helping me with all this equipment if he has ever heard of this...

I know it's a stupid question but... Was the sight that you looked thru inside the house with the a/c running? And then did you bring the sight outside into the heat? In other words, could it be some kind of moisture that built up on it temporarily? That's just a little odd is all...

I say keep both. I was at the range a couple days ago trying to sight in a cheap red-dot. Just when I thought I had it right it would seem to change POI. Adjust it again, then same issue. When I finally got around to really looking at it, the POS was loose between the body and integrated mount. I just took it off and tossed it in my bag. I haven't looked at it since, but I suspect it's not easily fixable and not worth the trouble.

Not that either of yours will ever break, but you may as well keep both just in case.

One of my other red-dot sights, my best one actually, also has a minor starburst issue when inside. It seems to be more of an issue with ambient light and how bright the dot is even on the lowest setting than anything else.
