The price of metals will drop in time and it will drop fast. Copper has come down in the last year or two as far as purchasing new copper tubing.

I would sell it now. Look for other ways to invest your money, into something less volatile.

People have been buying precious, semi precious metals for a while now, as they need money, they will liquidate also, this increase supply and the price drops.

As to whether or not you buy another gun, that's entirely your business. What you say is true though, if Romney is elected, prices are sure to drop because demand will drop.

Sell the copper sounds like you don't need another AR. I say spend it on reloading.

 

Sell the copper and invest it in mags, ammo, other guns, silver, etc.

Sell the copper, buy the AR, sell the AR, make $200 bucks. Then you have $900 to do with as you please.

 

I suspect that ammo, no matter who is elected, will be a better investment than scrap copper.

 

I just got a call. Looks like $1,000. takes it all.
AR-15 new unfired and 1,500 rounds of ammo.
1,000 rounds is brass cased Fiocchi. 200 or so is brass remington the rest is steel cased Tula. I'm going to take it. I have found nothing bad about Windham other than it is not Colt, and I have 2 of those already.

 

Is it the flat top or does it come with the carry handle? Sights?

 

I have two Windhams they are good guns.

 

Of it all the ammo is probably the best bet as a hedge against the dollar, in the last 6 years ammo has more than doubled in price.

I have trouble not doing that myself. For that reason, I don't think of ammunition as a financial investment. It is a personal physical security investment in my mind.

 

I say buy the gun. however that decision might be influenced by my gun buying addiction. I need to find a program for that lol

 

I have regreted every time that I declined to purchase a firearm that 1) I wanted and 2) I could afford. Unless you have other debts or prepping needs that require attention first, I'd go for it. Either way, that copper isn't of much use just sitting there.
