Salutations from NE Florida.

The name is Chris and I've been called a slew of nicknames, but I do answer to Catfish on many occasion. Overall I'm here to learn and be helpful. I'm known to have a personality like sandpaper underware, and it may take a bit to get used to me. :D: But, I promise ya I'm a good guy with good intentions - just a really messed up sense of humor.

Currently I'm actively working on many home stead skills, Florida environment based survival skills, and several traditional smithing skills like leather working, smelting, tailoring, and brewing.

For any other Floridians, you might stumble upon me out in the state forests as I'm working on my Trailwalker patches/tiers.

So, in the words of a man I know, "shade and water may you find." And may the moonlight light the path you walk.

Welcome, Much to learn here.

Things to ponder follow:

Have a BOL (bug out location, if needed)?

Self-sufficient? Garden? Stored food?

Reload? Cast bullets? Practice with your firearms?

Practice permaculture? Gather wild foods?
1. yup, multiple in a radial fall back design. But I prefer to use the "2nd wave method" (as described in Zombie Survival handbook) *Note: it is just described well there.

2. No, unfortunately not self sufficient, but we are learning gardening in a hands on way and have 6 food crops growing, but as for storing food: oh yeah, we do alot of that wi each store run.

3. No on the reloads, but we keep a small stock as of right now. I do cast sling shot bullets/fish sinkers from lead and pewter. And as for practicing: yup, combat and target training on a regular basis. I don't actively hunt yet ("boo" on me, just no hunting partner yet)

4. I am aware of permaculture, and on a partial scale I practice it through active composting and replanting, but not through benificial garden planting yet. As for foraging, yup. I try to maintain about 15 active plants that grow often and all over florida. I actively berry hunt and when available I harvest many edible weeds for the dinenr table (I thank Deane Green for that).
