Over the last two weeks ive sold three knives that i have made here in the UK,with the money that i have made im going out tomorrow to buy some new kit.

I will be buying a small anvil, bench sander,a buffer polishing attachment and a vise, the vise was not in stock so ill have too wait until thursday for this.

Ive started to clear out my brick out building so that i can set it up as a work shop.

Ive posted a few pics of some bits of kit that i have already and ill post pics of the rest of the kit as i get it, also ive posted a picture of the type of knife ive been selling, the reason i picked this type of knife is because they don't have handles so are quicker to make but once my work shop is up and running ill be making Bushcraft knives and so more unusual knives.

the pics are of my home made forge of which i will replace as i start to sell more knives for an indoor gas forge,my whetstone wheel, some of the knives ive been selling and my new gripper tongs which i got in the post this morning.

It seems for black smith tools like the tongs the USA is the place to buy from, these tongs were made by cooper tools USA,i got these so i can put the twist in rail road spikes.:thumb:

Thats awesome! I see that little forge setup you have...How did you get it, or how did you make it? My little brother (10th grade) is really interested in blacksmithing, and he has been trying to figure out how to make a good forge with bellows, basically just what you have! Do you just use wood to feed it? Thanks for the help Sticks!

Heres the bits and bobs i picked up today,as i said they didn't have the vise in that i wanted and im glad because i paid a few quid more and got a 1 ton rated one.

I got my belt sander with a grinding wheel on it and i bought a buffing kit which is now attached to the part were the grinding wheel was on my whetstone, the last picture is part of the buffing kit,the wheel is the first one that you use and the one on my whetstone is for finishing, the other thing in the box is the buffing compound.

i forgot to mention that i bought three different grit belts for the belt sander,i got 60 coarse-80 medium-120 fine.

I still have a lot of work to do yet,ive got to clear out my out building this week and then ill have to make a good sturdy bench for the vise and sander,so more money to spend on the wood for that then its down to some serious knife making to get the money for another bench and a propane forge.:D:

Im thinking that when im up and running properly and have sold a few knives im going to make a knife for the members here as a pass around.

each member gets to keep and test it for two weeks then passes it on to another member, that way i can get some feed back and make something with the input of the members here.

Thoughts please on this idea.

Today i started clearing my outbuilding so i can turn it into a workshop, what a job this was:eek:my dustbin is full and its going to take at least another day to clear, funny how everything gets dumped in there, ive told my family that im keeping the keys and no one is allowed in there from now on:thumb:

I also found some tongs i didn't know i had they are the ones on the right of the picture.,some dust masks and a pair of new safty googles:D:

I did a bit of modifiying to my belt sander as it had an edge that would get in the way of sanding blades so i ground and smoothed this off,you can see on the left hand side of the belt, its the silver part.

thanks Bud,thats my Nessmuk trinity,it took some time to put together.

The case moose was from a trade with Action Jackson, the Marbles Axes was a gift from my good lady wife for giving up smoking and i made the Nessmuk fixed blade myself.:thumb:

I should be making a few more full sized Nessies when i get my workshop finished:)

looks like you'll have some fun. i'd love to try it out, but don't think it'd turn out too well living in an apartment and all.
you should do some step by steps on here. if you dont mind.
