I took one apart about a year ago. Had what looked like c sized batteries in it iirc. Heard the aa tip too and thats what I was hoping to find. Mine was a ray-o-vac battery.

If you hook four 1.5 AA in a series you get 6 volts, but not much staying power. Eight sets of four 1.5 AA parallel wtill gives you 6 volts, but a good amount of staying power. In the video they have two layers of 16 batteries... vertically the tops of two batteries represents six volts. It adds up right... thirty-two 1.5 volt batteries. If you could hook the batteries up in a series it would be 48 volts, but not for long.

If you crack open a 9 volt battery you will find 6 AAAA batteries. There are a few "pen lights" that run on AAAA's.
