I am hearing that the gas tankers are getting police escorts to and from their stops. I have not seen this and so I am treating it as a rumor.

Locally the police are manning the gas stations (when they have gas to sell) to prevent fights and riots. I have seen this.

I heard that a few days ago someone was shot in Charlotte for jumping line at a gas station. He died.

There were at least two riots or large scale fights over gas last week.

Most of the newspapers here were reporting that this "crisis" would be over by today.

This morning it appears that the crisis is at least as bad as before if not more so. I didn't see a single gas station with gas and I saw more than a few cars on the side of the road, I assume they ran out of gas.

Gas prices coming down. Cheapest around here is about $3.69 (this is from $4.09) 90% of the gas stations have SOME gas. Very little have premium or plus. Gas outages happening randomly as certain stations run out of the limited gas they have.

Contacts with gas delivery drivers say no police escorts. No very long lines, but definitely some lines. They are limiting pickups from the distribution centers for the truckers. One (maybe two) truck loads a day per driver. This is usually 3-4 pickups a day.

Gas was $3.49 this morning, no lines, no fights, no police, but no premium just regular.

There was a gas station in central Arkansas early afternoon that was out of gas completely today. Our local stations have been out of everything except regular for over a week now. $3.68 a gallon as of a couple of hours ago.

The Atlanta area is a train wreck. I passed dozens of stations today and saw 3 that had gas. The lines at one of the was, I don't know, 65-75 cars long. The line went from the pumps, around the back of the building, across the parking lot, and into the road.
I stopped and talked to the attendant at the station a mile or so from my house. They sold 8,000 gallons in six hours and can't get anymore for a few days.
The stations that do have gas have signs on the pumps saying "limit $30".
A buddy of mine had some a-hole give him a hard time when he was filling up his work van. Luckily it was only words......

In the Upstate more stations closed than open. When the gas is there, lines out the yazoo. News reporters have shown cars tailing the gas tankers down the interstate and into town to the pump.

$3.99 is the price I have been paying. I top off at 1 / 4 down. Won't be caught looking. I have a Toyota Tercel. I get right at 40 MPG . This car is going up in value since I bought it.

Gas isn't any more available at the interstate than anywhere else.

Here in NC it is more of the same. Station get gas then comes the long line. Then it will be out of gas for the next five days. Every day we hear the samething on the news. What they have been telling us is this should be over within a day or so. We have been hearing this for three weeks now. The price is about 3.70. I bet it will be after Thanksgiving or there abouts. Before thing start to look normal.

Wow. Gas is $2.96 at Walmart here, minus the 3 cents for using a gift card that's $2.93. Maybe the government is testing the area to see who comes out shooting when things get bad? Just kidding. I don't actually believe that.

Lol, I know some people who are saying that!

Gas is almost 100% available here again. Still some spot outages of premium or midgrade. The price is still $3.99 9/10.
