I have been keeping my posting low so that I could post something worthwhile with my 3000:th post so here it goes...

Today, after visiting my optician, I swung by the coin shops nearby. My regular guy didn´t have anything but the guy next door had 3 ASEs. When I asked him about price he offered to sell them at spot.

When I got home I realized that not only did I get them a couple of percent under spot, he forgot taxes too. I could sell the ASEs on Swedish e-Bay and make 50% tomorrow if I wanted.

I could have walked away with the three of them for the price of two since he missed that I picked up all three but I was the honest guy I always am and pointed it out for him. Instant karma I suppose.

So tell us about your score.

The type of work I do requires me to remove the copper pipping, brass shower valves, brass drain shoes/offer flows, valve cover plates, drains, overflow cover plates, tub spouts, shower heads and goose necks (I keep it ALL). I also remove alot of shower doors which are Aluminum. I remove all the aluminum from the glass doors to go along with the header and jams. I demo 1-2 bathrooms a day. At the end of the month I visit the local recycle company and cash in between $400 - $600.:thumb:

Some of the other guys don't even bother with doing this so sometimes I get dibs on their stuff as well. MO MONEY.:thumb:

I work at a grocery store so I come in contact with a lot of coins. I get about 2-3 silver dimes a month and 1-2 silver quarters every two months pay for the coin to keep the till even and I come out ahead with silver weight. My best find was a Morgan silver dollar, I hope the guy that used it REALLY enjoyed that candy bar that he bought with a coin worth $25.

In 2007 some one in one of the bank branches of the bank I work for heard that I "collect coins" and said they had some coins the wanted me to look at. They took me into the main vault, next to their cash vault they opened a drawer and pulled out a bunch of silver eagles and fractional gold eagles. I asked them what they wAnted for them and they got out a magnifying glass to read the values on the small eagles and started tallying the values on the coins on a pad of paper. They sold them to me at face value.

I kept 5 of the ASE's and sold the rest eBay for about $1100. I want to say I paid $63. My only regret now is selling them and not a holding them.

Nice score Mag. Take the raise where you can get it. :thumb:

Last week I got a 1956 quarter in change. The middle eastern lady behind the counter acted like she was sneaking it to me, thinking something was wrong with it. I asked if she had anymore like it. I watlzed out with 4 of them for a buck.
