A while ago, we bought some heritage carrots at the market and they were yummy! At the back of the veggie bin, I must have overlooked one of the carrots, because I found one lone carrot that looked like it had started to 'sprout' roots. I stuck it out in our little 4' x4' garden bed and lo and behold, the little thing grew! It is now about 3 ft. tall and is beginning to flower. The flowers look like Queen Anne's Lace (they are related, I know).

My question from folks who have done it; what is the best way to gather seeds from this carrot? I've had a look around cyber-world and there are myriad ways, it seems. Again, from someone who has done it, how can I save seed?

Never mind answering; I've spent the last couple of hours reading Google and it seems that I need more than one carrot in order to prevent inbreeding. Oh well...
