I guess the weather hasn't been nice enough for everyone here in America.
But check out the people in France!!!
As many as three million people took to the streets across France today to protest against President Nicolas Sarkozy's handling of the economic crisis and demand more help for struggling workers.

The protests, which polls show are backed by three quarters of the French public, reflect growing disillusion with Sarkozy's pledges of reform as the crisis has thrown tens of thousands out of work and left millions more worried about their jobs.

Bright spring sunshine helped the turnout and the total reported by union organizers surpassed the 2.5 million seen on an earlier day of protest on Jan. 29.

Streets in central Paris were packed with protesters waving anti-Sarkozy placards and chanting slogans, with badges reading "Get lost you little jerk!", the now infamous comment made by Sarkozy to a protestor
at an agriculture show, much in evidence.

"There are more and more workers who feel they are not responsible for this crisis but that they are the main victims of it," said Bernard Thibault, head of the CGT, one of the eight trade unions organising the strikes.

More than 2 million people are out of work in France and despite an easing in inflation, even many with a job struggle with the high cost of living.

But there is little prospect of an improvement in the situation, with many analysts predicting the economy will contract by 2 percent this year and unemployment will jump 25 percent to almost 10 percent.

There are (peaceful) protests occurring worldwide, yet America is silent. Let's hope the planned tea parties mark a shift in our collective consciousness. The longer America remains silent, the better prepared the coming civilian national security farce becomes (yes, I said farce, not force).

It says a lot that France is openly protesting. Remember how much we have heard about how cowardly they are, wont go to war about anything, and how they screw everything up,and how our military detests them? Looks like they have more guts than the sheeple here in Amerika.

Make no mistake about the intentions of the french. All they want is MORE Socialism. Is this what you want? I don't.
What they want is not what I was talking about. The fact that they have enough cajones to take to the streets for it is what I was talking about.:D:

I took this photo on Thursday at a local town.

It's a small place but it was totally shut down, everyone was out. Roads blocked. Not crazy students, but I mean everyone. I've seen this many times in my time here. Lots of singing. The gripe of the people is Sarkozy's monarch style of doing government. Sarkozy is a lackey to anglo-saxon policies and has throughout the crisis been imitating the actions of the US/UK with preemptive "bail outs" going to the super rich and being squandered. This despite the economy not doing so badly comparatively because, before he came along, things were done much differently to the US/UK in the banking sector. To top things off, Sarkozy sold the military into NATO recently (although this strike was organised before that). There's a lot of hate for this guy.

Edit: You must expand this image to full size to see anything clearly
