If she has nothing to hide...why won't she cooperate despite the accusation that it is partisian? This really smacks of BushCo.'s tatics of refusing to testify in congressional hearings. And you McPain supporters want 8 more years of this crap?

Palin Won't Cooperate in Probe of Trooper Firing, Campaign Says Tony Hopfinger
Tue Sep 16, 12:21 AM ET
Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Alaska Governor Sarah Palin won't cooperate in an investigation into the firing of the state's top law enforcement official because the probe has become ``tainted'' by partisan politics, a McCain-Palin campaign spokeswoman told reporters in Anchorage.
Alaska lawmakers, led by State Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, are investigating Palin over the July 11 firing of Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, who said he resisted pressure to dismiss state trooper Mike Wooten. The trooper was involved in a divorce and custody battle with the governor's sister.
Instead of the legislature investigating the matter, the allegations should be reviewed by the state personnel board, which handles state employee disputes, campaign spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said yesterday. The board is already reviewing the firing of Monegan, spurred by ethics complaints filed by Palin and the trooper's union representing Wooten.
The state legislature's investigation was thrust into the national spotlight after Republican presidential nominee John McCain picked Palin as his vice presidential running mate. The Alaska lawmakers are trying to conclude the probe by Oct. 10, less than a month before the Nov. 4 presidential election between McCain and Democratic nominee Barack Obama.
Stapleton said e-mails compiled by the Palin administration show that Monegan was dismissed for not complying with budgetary requests by the governor.
``The reassignment of Walt Monegan had absolutely nothing to do with Trooper Wooten and everything to do with Commissioner Monegan's adamant refusal to join with Governor Palin on fiscal responsibility reform,'' Stapleton said.
In a Sept. 12 interview, Monegan said that as a political appointee, the governor had the right to fire him without cause. Still, he said his dismissal appeared to have more to do with Palin's concerns with Wooten, who she alleged was dangerous and should not be employed as a trooper.
``Wooten was the biggest factor, if not the only factor, in that,'' Monegan said of his termination.
