I have aquired over time some knives that the clip point has been broken off. Mostly from the airport siezures that I bought up. Some one along the line thought it would be safer for the general public or just to be goverment ******* broke off the tips. I pulled out my Smith stones and over the course of a while whithed down the blunted points into a rounded point sort of like on SOG's. This produced a rounded sharp point that is looks stronger than the original pointy point and while not a thrusting edge makes a slashing edge.
I have done this on a Kershaw, Spyderco, and a Buck 1. I did this because it did not make sense to grind down to a clip point ruining the original blade.
