Hey everyone! Awesome forum here. Glad to have found it! I often feel too all alone and in the minority with my views on the world going to hell, etc...but not here!

We, my wife and I, have been living off grid for a while, and we recently moved onto a sailboat. Pretty sweet life to be able to get out of the cr*p in the city and flee for freedom and safety via a boat.

Glad to be here!

Thanks everyone!

Yeah the sailboat is an interesting option. Main drawback that we've found so far isthe inability to grow our own food. However, this has been significantly offset by our ability to forage. by that I mean that we get fresh fish every day. Man I'm hooked on spear fishing now! In addition to that we've foraged lots of coconuts, some mangoes, papayas, and similar fruits. Vegetables are super hard to come by, but there is some hunting to be had in certain locations, like wild boar in the Bahamas.

Dont carry any weapons on board, although we have been seriously considering it. Transporting a rifle, for example, between state waters could be a real mess. A gun is considered a standard piece of equipment on a seagoing vessel, but if you try to be legit and honest about carrying one then you just might lose it.

Any other captains here?
