It looked kind of interesting, but when I saw it was produced by WBTV I just had a feeling it was going to be a "woke" show. Warner Bros turned all the superhero shows on TV (Arrow, Flash, etc) into vomit-inducing SJW wokeness until they lose all their viewers. I don't watch those shows, but I've read about people complaining about the wokeness and the shows losing viewers. They never learn... smh

BTW the new season of Daredevil is pretty damn good. My favorite season so far. Very dark and not "woke" at all.

Another pretty good show on Netflix is Bodyguard. Watched it this week, a 6 episode series about a British police officer who gets assigned duty to protect the Home Minister. The main guy is played by the guy who played Rob Stark on GOT.

The thing that is really making me mad is the premium movie channels are now doing it and are also including programs dedicated to it. Do it. Netflix and Hulu are FAR cheaper, no SJW commercials, and you can find LOTS of stuff that doesn't suck, mixed in among all the crap that DOES suck. Sadly MUCH of the stuff that doesn't suck has subtitles, because American producers want to play the game...but I read fast.

It's funny you bring this up. I'm sitting here watching it on duty today. As for the trans girl, maybe it comes up more later on but so far it didnt see it as her being trans. When I watched that part I thought they were talking about her having small breasts.

Back in highschool we had a girl who got made fun of for not being very attractive and not having much in the breast area.

 

The actor, Lachlan Watson, identifies as non-binary and plays trans characters. The show's writers include a non-binary person and the character is intended to be non-binary who uses she pronouns. Lachlan uses the pronouns he and they. Not sure on which genitals, which is intentional on Lachlan's part and deliberately scrubbed from public discussion about the actor.

The character is openly stated to have been added purely to push non-binary gender versus male/female or trans-male/trans-female.

 

Not all the SJW wokeness in TV shows and movies is LGTBQ related. There is anti-white-male, pro gun control, pro-Islam, anti-Christian, basically any issue the left holds is presented in the best possible light in most shows.

My wife has been watching Law and Order: SUV since it came out decades ago, and she said she almost can't watch it any more because the bad guys are always bad guys as a result of their white male-ness. Something about them being white and male makes them evil.

I watched the first season of Homeland and when I figured out at the end the bad guy was the white male Christian Army soldier I was ****ed that I wasted my time watching the whole season. So many actual villians to choose from in the middle east, and they choose the white christian male.

And look at that show on Hulu - The Handmaid's Tale. I was interested because it was set in a post apocalyptic world. In the first 10 minutes I saw that an extremist religion had taken over everyone's lives and treats women like breeding cattle, and the evil religious fanatic guys are the... Christian White Males. Because yeah, there's not another religion that actually is that way right now... I couldn't stomach that show for more than 10 minutes. And the left has embraced this show as a symbol of how evil real life White Males are. They actually dress up like the characters to protest. ****ing idiots.

I wasted more time on Netflix watching the show about Troy, waiting for Achilles to show up. 4-5 episodes in, he appears and he's a... bald black dude. Now I don't care if black people play characters on TV, but this is SO historically incorrect that it was obvious they did it to score woke points. Yeah there were black people in Greece, and they were AFRICANS. But Achilles was GREEK, not African. I turned it off and never watched it again.

But I skimmed an article the other day that says that now over 8% of the characters on TV shows are LGTBQ, while just over 4% of the actual US population is LGTBQ. But the LGTBQ organizations are demanding that the TV shows up their percentage to 10%.

Scarlett Johanson recently had to leave a movie where she was going to play a woman who was living as a man. Trans activists complained that the role wasn't being played by a trans person - that is, a woman actor who lives as a man in her real life. But with a trans person in the lead role, no one would watch the film so producers pulled out and they cancelled it.

While I don't personally have any beef with LGTBQ people, it is the above kind of activism that makes people dislike them.

I'm willing to live and let them live, but they are forcing an extreme, ideological view of the world on all of us, often in ways that ignore common sense, and it does tend to make me oppose everything they want to do.

It's not an LGB issue. it's an SJW one. They just use LGB and Trans people the same way they use Muslims. To be offended on their behalf. They'll even fake being LGB in order to win points socially, but they won't actually sleep with people of the same gender when it comes down to it. Gay men are now considered oppressors 1 step below straight males. Bisexual men are considered equal oppressors to straight men. Lesbians are in open revolt over the SJWs trying to force them to have sex with male to female transgenders against their will.

There is actually a massive exodus right now of LGBT people #WalkingAway from the left because of the SJWs.

Something like that. Claims to be neither male or female, but something else. It's for when being trans isn't extreme enough, but at the same time it's a LOT lazier than being trans.

 

One thing for sure, between SJW and LGBTQ, there is a lot of mental illness in society these days, and it is the fault of ALL white males who self identify as non muslims.

I've had plenty of trans friends from long before it was even something the rest of society knew existed, I've dated a trans-woman, recently started dating a trans-man. Bad news for you is I get the chicks as well as the boys.

I don't mind dating and having fun with crazy. But after the first disaster, I only consider stable to be permanent marriage material. Crazy can be fun, but if crazy gets too crazy it doesn't get any more dates.

As for sucking ****.. trans all seem to be bottoms regardless of gender.

There is a video game I was really looking forward called The Last of Us 2. The gameplay video they revealed a few months ago has the main character sharing a intimate moment with her girlfriend. If they just implied she was a ***** I could probably just ignore it, but since it seems her lesbian relationship is going to be a big part of the game I ain't playing it. It really ****es me off because the first game was amazing and I was really looking forward to the sequal.

 

It appeals to the target audience, but they also don't target an audience that will make them money. They choose an audience to earn social ranking.

I think there needs to be a sort of mental toughness to survive a disaster.

I don't think flipping out over Sabrina the teenage witch is an especially good indicator of how someone will go if faced with any sort of real problem.

Of course I haven't watched it so mabye the psychological scars are real.

My youngest grew up watching the original. I imagine that I will be missing this one too.

 

I'm on episode 6 now. He is right, the character in question is trans but it's barely mentioned.

The show itself is really good. I remember watching the original growing up and it's an interesting twist having the family be evil instead of the goody goodies they were in the original.

 

Riverdale is/was too. At least season 1. Haven't seen season 2. Was nice to see comically clean Archie and friends go dark.

Heard about it but have not seen the new STTW. I also heard they are rebooting the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series (with SMG) and I'm afraid to watch. I loved the movie and the TV show (until the last few seasons). I'm afraid it will be a SJWfest instead of good old fun like it should be.

 

Doesn't sound like I've missed anything since I stopped watching Netflix.

The 2003 Ben Affleck Daredevil movie ruined me for watching the Daredevil Netflix Show. Is it just a stupid rehash of that movie like that horrible Dusk to Dawn series they had? That was horrible.

Let's turn a 90 minute movie into a 10 episode series...
