According to U.S. and NATO intelligence reports, Russia is amassing 100,000 troops along the Ukraine border. For a possible January 2022 invasion:

From the article:

The information lays out a scenario where troops would cross into Ukraine from Crimea, the Russian border and via Belarus, with about 100 battalion tactical groups -- potentially around 100,000 soldiers -- deployed for what the people described as an operation in rough terrain and freezing conditions, covering extensive territory and prepared for a potentially prolonged occupation.

The information is coming from US Intelligence sources.

Also from the article:

A senior administration official said the U.S. has under Biden demonstrated it is willing to use a number of tools to address harmful Russian actions and would continue to do so. The White House said it had no further comment.

I think the recent example of Biden throwing Afghanistan under the bus, has emboldened Putin to think that the U.S. won't risk anything serious to save Ukraine. And if the U.S. won't do anything significant, then NATO won't either.

Thoughts? Opinions?

With migrants amassing the Belerus/Poland boarder, you can bet there is trouble brewing...

Russia knows the USA is weak with spinless Biden not to mention chaos across Europe over Mask Mandates. With spinless Biden too busy catching up with the Scamdemic, blaming China, keeping the US failing economy afloat, and pretty much handing Afghanistan back to the Taliban on the silver platter, what is Russia to lose???

The real test will be what will Spinless Biden do if China attacks Taiwan???

In watching "Bald and Bankrupt" a single source of uncensored HUMINT - many areas along to border are very Russian (signage, language and even taking Rubles)

The host often asks older folks about the USSR - and they reply 'things (or life) were 'better back then'...

Keep in mind - the same is true here. I suspect the average reader on this board will say "things were better back then'....(pre-1980 or 90s).. I know I certainly do.

It will take at least two generations (maybe three) before there is acceptance of the borders as seen to day. If the boarders remain. Many Russian speakers claim they are harassed for 'being Russian'. - thus the support seen in many polls.

Bottom line, if Russian aggression is unchecked, the Ukraine will devolve into two or three sectors, based on language and culture.

I've posted links to the board from B&B, should you wish to watch fro yourself.

Would a coordinate3d assault on the Ukraine and Taiwan be in the works?

The playbook is literally out of the 1930's.
China and Russia are as good of allies as Germany and Russia were in 1940. They don't trust each other . They might mutually exploit an incursion by the other to their own ends though.

Spuhseeba, Exarmy.

After DeGaulle withdrew France from the NATO military command structure in 1963 (I think '63) France never completely returned to the military portion of NATO. France kept out of the NATO nuclear planning group with it's own Force de frappe (strike force)

Germany is more interested in a pipeline under the Baltic.

The UK is closely allied with the US now.

Perhaps Turkey and Iceland can mobilize against 100,000 Russian troops.

Of course, NATO's long gone less the meetings and some exercises that are really vacations / holidays.

Again? These horror stories are told to you 2 times a year.
Just once, when Russia is conducting exercises or something like that, then from all the TVs I hear "Russia will attack now!"

the Russian border and via Belarus
And what does Ukraine have to do with it? It is 350 kilometers to its border.

I have a feeling like I have heard same thing before:

My thoughts exactly :) Media just trying to create a smoke screen. How come NYP Hunter Biden yesterday's story is not everywhere? Or that attack in Wisconsin faded from all the front pages. All the media quickly back to the boogeyman story.

Media just trying to create a smoke screen.
The Ukrainian authorities are now in a disastrous position due to poor preparation for the winter. Coal and gas have not been purchased in the required volume.
"As of the beginning of October, there were only 614,000 tonnes in stocks, four times lower than over the same period last year. "
Around February, these reserves will run out, then the "Russian offensive" is planned.

Keep in mind that we all can armchair scrutinize this and be totally wrong.

I want to make clear that the last time this went on, the Russian troops were withdrawn after a claim of "exercise"..
To whit, I will say, fine.
then OK.

the Ukraine right now is a total mess.
the corruption in there is as bad if not worse than Belarus and the whole affair is similar to what happened with the French and Indo china before and after it becoming Vietnam.

to Trackball, trust me when we say we are not looking at the rank and file or the civilian populace.

were looking at stark parallels to historic events and given OUR issues here in the US, were worried!

Our leadership is feckless at best right now, and ANY fight over the Ukraine is NOT in our interests ATALL!

But the cold fact is that the Ukraine is playing with fire here with the dabbling with NATO, and quite frankly they need to decide one way or the other rather than play the US and NATO as the biker backup dude to the wimpy kid picking fights with the local bully.

Personally, the Ukraine screwed up their system badly after the early 1990's and this is one fight we need to avoid like the plague.
but COULD very possibly get pulled into.

Add Taiwan into the mix and it feels like 1938 all over again.

So what if they invade, nothing we can do but sit back and watch. After being lied to for 20 years about our progress in Afghanistan who in the hell believes anything american/Nato intelligence puts out... Besides, When the Dollar implodes and our country blows up nobody here is going to give crap about what other nations are doing...

Stop for a moment and think here folks.

1: Russia Gate.
2: Russian collusion in other aspects.
3: Ukrainian files on Biden.
4: Ukraine gate involving Trump.
5; Dombas oil pipeline.

Those situations would make ne think that Biden is either pro Ukraine or anti Russia, but I am beginning to think that the Russian collusion aspect is a smokescreen for something far different.

None of which looks nice, and I am going to say that it isn't our standard black and white view of things.

By the way, we have before us an example of "fake news"
Everyone writes that Russian troops are on the border with Ukraine, but no one writes exactly where.
Why? Because they are NOT on the border.
The only source who points to the Russian location of the troops is https://www.voanews.com/
"shows the presence of a large ground force deployment near Yelnya, Smolensk region, Russia "

Let's look at the map

Here is a "surprise attack"
