Exactly. The man has never been a serious contender for the white house. While I agree with most of his message he just does not have the gravitas, the organization and certainly not the timing to run. Paul is always way too little way too late. To get the white house you have to have a lot of mojo ahead of the ball, not way behind it. He should have spent the time since his last run building for this one. No, he sat in the corner and politically masturbated. It's too late to pull his pants up and run successfully. He is so behind the curve that if he ever got in the white house it would be a disaster greater than Obama. He's have to be president for 20 years to get anything done. The man is a perpetually late personality.paul finally in a position to be of some use and he's going to throw it all away for a failed campaign. you ron paul folks did know he isn't going to seek re-election right?
i remember all the high fiving when paul got the chairmanship for monetary policy over the fed and the high expectations for him, too bad he's throwing that away. Oh well,
this is the end of ron paul and he is leaving his supporters under the guise of a run for the presidency that he knows he can not win........
DAMN, that was good! How much you wanna bet everyone else runs on a platform of meaningless insults & slander of Paul, while skipping around the real issues?
I remember when Perot ran, the media kept shouting "this guy is the biggest threat to Americas two party system there ever was." As if they were hopping people would be stupid enough to believe it was un-American to vote for Perot.Third party will most likely not be successful. The majority of folks are way too comfortable/complacent with bipartisanship.
Side note: Bipartisanship is a concept that is DESTROYING our government. It divides everything into an 'either/or' situation i.e. you are Left or Right. This is the most dangerous fallacy (see: False Dichotomy) of them all...
With that said, a third party does not fit the standard template of Right or Left and therefore stands a very very low probability of victory. Change has to come from within the current paradigm; that is, in order to increase the probability of winning he has to run as a Republican or Democrat.
Research the Bull Moose party. Even if the third party was the favorite, all it would do is share votes with the 2nd favorite thus increases the likelihood that that the third favorite would win. That is best-case scenario. Realistically the third party will be third favorite among the Rep/Dem increasing the likelihood that the current left/right paradigm stays in place.
Moreover, good luck getting an electoral college to vote for a third party. That system is a nightmare and shares a great deal of responsibility for keeping the current zeitgeist rock'n and roll'n.
