Cool. You can see it hit the puddle of water in front of him and come up to his head. The hat probably cushioned some of the impact, but not much. I thinks its ok to shoot steel as long as you angle it to deflect the bullet into soft ground.

in the 2nd movie, there is a guy to his 9 o'clock and in front of him at a 45.
movie is guys gets hit with a 270 or such . Guy is acting like he is taking pictures. Bang, guy hops around like he was it in the baby makers and of course the que,frenchy,euro speak cussing, all to show a cut on his wrist that is not bleeding. fake? could be, odd it happened twice and on film both times , yes.
