Ricekila - Can't either you or your wife cook? That doesn't look very appetizing for a Thanksgiving dinner. :(

On the other hand, just because I have no one TO cook for, I am not having a T-giving dinner either this year. Instant organic quinoa packet with pesto is what will sustain me today - but that sounds gourmet compared to what you are having.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone - no matter where you are or what you have on the table today!

On the contrary -- besides the fact the mere astonishment that anyone would do anything for someone else always surprises me - no matter who it is

I'm very simple -- I don't need or want anything fancy

Like on these cooking shows Wifey likes to stare at --

"But chef -- the serving plate isn't hot"

"The eggs are runny"

Is it food -- is it not poison --- then STFU and eat :D:

AZ...I did the same thing :) We had our first one 2 yrs ago...organic free range from the grocery store...it was awesome. Last year we bought a free-range from a local farmer....never again...it was sooooo tough. This year back to the organic free range...it is in the oven now and we will eat at 5. Hopefully it will be just as good as the first one we had 2 yrs ago. $65 for the damn turkey...my splurge for the year

Smoked duck? I'll have to try that!

Spent yesterday smoking turkeys for us, my pastor, and a friend. Since I built this smoker I've become 'that guy...' Smoked for reunions, weddings, holidays, etc... Love it, though it's a lot of time and work.

So, we have a 25 pounder, and the wife is busy with the sides. Her Best Ever mashed potatoes (seriously, it's amazing how much better they are than regular), home made stuffing, I'll even have a peach pie for after...
Life is good, and I'm getting hungry!

I had a decent sized piece of turkey, a few spoonfuls of mashed potatoes with gravy and a big bowl of turnip. Go figure, people don't like turnip so there was plenty of that.

Washed at least a hundred dishes and lots of flatware. All in all, it was a good day. My wife came back from her horse ride in one piece and had fun so it was all good.

Not a FOOD photo, at least not today.

I cook a free full thanksgiving dinner for multiple down on their luck needy local families & deliver them personally.

Was loading up my SUV to make the deliveries a few minutes ago.
Went in the house to carry out another load & when I went back outside with both arms full.

For a moment I thought Santa had landed in my driveway.
6 fat does & a healthy big buck was standing in my driveway "sniffing" all the food in the open SUV.

Hope the world is being good to you-all & happy thanks giving.

LOL......

I could not fit a single solitary hot dog in my home freezers. Besides the 2 elk we bagged this year, butchered 2 hogs, 1 grass fed steer & bought twenty (over 24lbs each) turkeys wholesale from a supplier. BOL freezers are jammed FULL to. :thumb:
