Try providing them with a breeding pan with water in it. Every couple days strain out the water and kill all their larva. Then fill it again. Instead of the skeeter breeding in some out of the way place you can't find, you provide a place so you can kill all their young.

A couple of other ways to repel mosquitoes:

Make a thin lotion of powdered yellow sulfur and water and wipe it on exposed skin.

It'll repel skeeters the same way dusting your socks and cuffs with the dry powder will repel ticks.

I swear I'm not joking with this next one: Wear plaid shirts--the same kind OK Lumberjacks are always portrayed in. The geometrical pattern apparently screws up the mosquito's landing program.

Plain black and plain white, on the other hand, are about the worst colors you can wear.

I assume that you're talking about being able to go outside your home, rather than camping?

The smoke baths are supposed to be effective control out in the boondocks, but you'll reek of smoke.

Quoted from another thread:

Robert has an interesting video on a long lasting treatment of soaking and air drying your outdoor clothing in permethrin if you really want to repel chiggers, ticks and mosquitoes for ~$6:

I bought some and have it in with the preps in case we have to be outside. He says that it lasts through many washings.

I often use skin so soft on my clothing and go out fully clothed. I also avoid evening and early morning hours and try to stay out of darkened areas. I do enjoy dumping out containers of water, but it is folly to leave them available since there are often no shortage of mosquitoes to lays eggs in all available water.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take you serious or not, but if this works then that's pretty darn funny and awesome all at the same time.

Air craft carrier Ahoy!

:sleep:Here in New Mexico, this time of year you may swing your opened fist across your arm and squeeZe and witness Blood permeating from between your fingers. This time of year in New Mexico, we are all in the Squeeter Navy, having literally dozens of squeeters take off of us all! Someone said put some penneys in a ziplock bag with water and hang it up on a post in front of your doorway, it will defray squeeters or attract panhandlers!
