That may have been the case fifteen or even ten years ago, but i have been hearing more and more problems and complaints about new 870's, and now i wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole.I hope this is problem does not occur very often, as I did my research and for the price, many sources said the 870 was the most reliable.
Old 870's are great, and a second hand wingmaster should and does hold the title (IMO) of the greatest shotgun that there ever was, but Remington have really let everyone down when it comes to newer 870 express shotguns.

I do hear that there are good batches and bad batches though, and i hope you get success with yours.
If they are good, they are very very good; but if they are bad they are terrible!
