I'd like to know more about wilderness medicine so that I can have peace of mind when taking my family camping in the backcountry. I know I would be better off with a hands on course and intend on looking into that, but a good book may help me learn some of the basics in the mean time. Can someone recommend a good wilderness medicine book?

Id recomend you try to get an emtb book from a local community college.And after that get the advanced emt book for paramedics and also take a wilderness medicine course if you can find one.Most military field medics are paramedics and you also have combat lifesavers which is less than an emtb.
