You need to read up on the white buffalo and what it means to the Native Americans. This isn't funny at all.

You are talking apples, and I'm dealing in figs. There was no cause nor need to kill this animal. The skin was taken. Apparently, they left the meat. The animal was a religious totem to the Native American peoples. For a lot less provocation than this, the Ghost Dance went through the tribes in the 1880s.

Just what would anyone propose be done about it? How do you 'elevate' the natives so that they stop drinking, gambling, and just generally being slothful and wierd.

I worked in and around the rez in Arizona for some years. It used to be a running joke even among the Indians that you could build them a brand new house, and six months later the screens would be falling off, garbage thrown out in the yard, and just generally what you would see in a third world nation. So I ask you, how the hell do you change that?

I know! I'll swap with Redman! Redman can take my house if I can move out on the rez and enjoy all the privileges he does now. I'll go for that. And I guarantee you there will be no garbage in my yard and no screens falling off the windows. :thumb: Hell, I just might open my own casino right next to Phoenix where gambling is illegal in the white man's world. Couple years ago some tool cut down a sacred 2000yr old ceadr tree on van isle , little while before that some guys shot a bunch of bald eagles for their parts ( the perps were native ) , people can be ****s .
