I am wondering if a Picatinny rail will accept a Weaver-style scope base. I bought a picatinny rail for my AK, and I want any number of red dot sights (that use weaver-style). Some things from Google say they are the same...some say they aren't. Can I mount a weaver scope on a picatinny rail?

There are differences. What you want is everything to be 1913 spec.
