I agree syntactically there would be no difference, but that wouldn;t fix any of the problems created by the illegals already here. if all illegals went BACK to mexico, then were admitted by proper channels, and after proper screening...it would help in lots of ways.

what possible good could come from allowing a career criminal who is Hep3 and HIV positive to enter our country??

so...if we completely eliminated the immigration laws, how many "immigrants" do you think would immediatly enroll in welfare? what about the ones with hepatitis or AIDS...or kidney failure, or heart disease? the ones with extensive criminal backgrounds or drug and alcohol dependencies? the drug cartel members? we should......pay for them, treat them, put them in our prisons, and then what?

since you find so many flaws with the system....what are your plans to control the spread of endemic diseases, crime, drugs, infrastructure strain, etc brought on by the "newly legal immigrants" ..and the immediatly following "soon to be legal immigrants"?

how will you document them? will you take their word they are who they say they are? will youmake them swear on a bible? are we going to make them pinky swear? how will you fund doing all this?

at what number do you say "ok...that's enough" the rest of you can't come here, we have too many? so they sneak in ...and become what "sneaky legal immigrants"? what good are borders with no immigration control?

so...what about canada's borders? or el salvadors for that matter?

so...get rid of the borders AND the immigration laws? this, sadly, sounds like an argument for the north american union.

are you simply playing devils advocate...or do you REALLY not see the problems with illegal immigration and why it is illegal. the argument behind "lets get rid of the immigration laws" is so flawed and honestly....just stupid...it hardly warrants a response. it's the same logic as saying there's a fire in the building...throw water on the fire alarm.
