Someone at NBC produced this great vid of female athletes in motion, and then some prude decided it was too 'pornographic'.

These great athletes (male AND female) worked years to develop these incredible skills and their physique is simply the physical manifestation of that hard work. The human body is a beautiful thing, especially in slow motion, and even more so when they are so anatomically easy on the eyes.

I don't think this objectifies women or men at all. It is human to admire others who are beautiful...

There will always be those so uncomfortable in their own skin, they can't bare to look at others.
I knew a guy once who had been a life-long 3rd generation nudist. He suggested there should be a study done on criminals/victims to see how many were practicing (not just wanna be) nudists. It was his opinion, nudists were not only less violent than others, but were also less likely to be victims. He also stated that he believed there was less divorce and less teen pregnancy in nudist families. I gotta tell ya, just from what I observed of this mans family/social life, I think he might have been on to something there....

So what did the olympians think of the video? Isn't that what should matter?
I'm sure they watch themselves on tape all the time. When I used to play basketball, I'd watch tapes of my play to identify and fix my weaknesses. Watching yourself run, jump, fight for position from a 3rd person's perspective is actually very useful.

If I were any of the beautiful ladies shown on the above clip, I'd be really happy with the way my body looked.

Then again, who knows. Perhaps some suffer from self image issues and will never be happy with how they look. IMO, they ALL look great! :thumb:

One of the interesting things I've noted and others have noted...the precise women most worried about being seen as a sex object because of attention paid to other women, as in pagents, Hooters and such, are precisely the same women who are in absolutely no danger of increasing such 'unwanted' scrutiny.

Those Hooters gals are really nice. :)

Kinda funny the women doing all the Hooters protesting have bodies that look like a sack of doorknobs. :D:
The way your body looks is a direct reflection of type of lifestyle you choose to live and is the result of discipline (or lack thereof).

I understand that not all of us have the same idealized body type. Not all women will look like Miranda Kerr or that sports illustrated model that everyone is talking about now.

In turn, I will never look like Brad Pitt or have a physique like Michael Phelps.

BUT.. If you take care of your body, you will be uniquely beautiful as all humans were meant to be. That lady protesting the hooters girls could look good if she hit the gym and combed her hair lol. Maybe put on some clothes that had a little color in it?
