Was reading the paper today it had an article about the Copenhagen summit. It was talking about the arrest of hundreds of protestors. It said and I quote " most were arrested for breaking Denmarks strict laws on carrying pocket knifes and wearing masks " do we really want any legislation comming out of a country that has laws against carrying pocket knifes. Just some food for thought.:thumb:

You need to really poke around, check the Indymedia sites, etc. So far as I can figure, the protests probably have a similar anti-WTO and anti-Bilderberg sentiment. It's a red herring to interpret this in symbolic liberal vs. conservative terms. They are protesting because they see the summit playing out the same way that other international agreements have played out recently: the big guys and multi-national corporations run the show, whereas small countries face tighter rules. The see environmentalism being another neo-colonial strategy by which large corporations/nations tighten the noose on smaller ones. At least, this is what I suspect -- there's so much white noise that it's hard to get good data.

I say the same about the tea party protests also. The country is so d*mned polarized along divide-and-conquer lines, with the wrong messenger leading each "half" that I'm convinced it's no accident. Take any issue that presents a threat to the status quo, divide it up 2-4 pointless ways, put 2-4 jokers in charge of each movement and you now only have to worry about a minority opposition. 'Hanoi' Jane Fonda during Vietnam was clearly an example of this strategy, which should be obvious given the fact she later married a Bilderberger, not a hippy anti-war protestor.

I don't understand what these people are protesting. They are getting everything they want already.
It's because they aren't gittin enough of what they want fast eough.
what makes me laugh at their intellectual capacity is that they seem have no idea that tha changes they want will effect them as well.
And their lifestyle will be crimped, and freedoms curtailed like all others will be.
It seems that thiose who espouse a socialistic state thing it will never effect them. Until "Uncle Joe" takes charge and its too late.

I guess my point was if people of that area value individual freedon so little as to not be able to carry even a pocket knife, let alone a gun. They will care little about the guberment telling them they have to set their thermostats at 65 or they have to drive a certain car. They JUST DON'T GET IT, and they never will.

It looks like a bunch of college age kids who are angry because that is what they are being taught. If they were thinking clearly and for themselves they would realize how stupid they are being. Only an idiot would demand that a government take more control over their lives.
