There is no upside to waiting, only potential problems. Most have all been mentioned. I've got 3 gennys, a bigger one and two smaller inverters that can be paralleled. They're all dual fuel. I've only ever run them on propane. Every hurricane I go out and get 5 - 5 gallon cans of non-ethanol, just in case. It always ends up in the wife's car after the event. I have never once said, "Gee I wish I had run gas in my generator".
As it's been said several times here, do the conversion work out the bugs, get the system clear of gas. Then do your regular maintenance runs on propane and put it away and forget until the next run. No getting the gas out, draining the float bowl, etc., etc. every time you run it. If the day comes that you have to run gas in it, so be it. But not until then.
