I think i ran into what i think could of been wolfs.I was hiking in the southern bershire mountains of northwestrn C.T. When in saw two dogs sniffing the trail of a another hiker and his dogs tracks.I didn't think anything of it as soon as those dogs saw me they stopped and one of them jumped up to a rock wall and started sniffing the other one witch had a redish brown fur watched me.Soon they ran off.At this time i though they were someones dogs running lose.So i walked another 1/4 mile saw no other person.I started thinking did some one fall and there dogs running lose.Soon after i turned back about 5 minutes later i look down to my left and the redish brown colored one is walking about 5 feet from me looking up i look down and it runs about 80 feet away.I look behind me the grey and black one is about 20 feet from me and statled the **** out of me as soon as looked at it it's hair stuck up like a porcupine and it's grinted it's teeth at me and i stood and was way more focused on him.Then i started yelling at it and soon it ran rite by me joined the brownish color one stopped the looked at me then ran off.
Those that don't know in Western Mass the found a dead wolf and i was about 4 miles away from southwestern Mass.These dogs were 80 pounds at least and had nappy fur.There also was a sighning two towns away at loading dock the workers stopped working they got so freaked out.After that i went to a local gun shop heard some farmers are having attacks on animals.I even reported this to the dep.I also bought bear pepper spay.That day the wind was gusting at me and i also had in my pack some cabellas deer scent camo.
Is it possible for cayotes to get to 80 pounds?
