police checkpoints during martial law

I just heard Alex Jones' Friday show and his guest, congressman Dan Hemburg, said there were veiled threads of martial law if the latest bailout plan didn't pass. Now with less than a month before elections, I wondering where the roadblocks are going to be and where I should be looking for a BOL. Wouldn't it be great if there was a network of people with CBs, perhaps, that could warn of where the roadblocks are. If you knew where they were, you could possibly take backroads. The internet will undoubtably be shut down or severely restricted.

Correction - that was congressman Brad Sherman

"many of us were told in private conversations, that if we voted against this bill, on Monday, that the sky would fall, the market would drop...and a few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no."

excerp from Alex Jones show, 10/3/08
some audio clips

Hope this ain't against the rules - I couldn't use the manage attachments feature for these file types. I'm posting these excerps in mp3 format on my website.

Here's a link to the audio clip (extended version)

I believe this was discussed in another thread and this marshal law is talking about a law for congress voting not the one you are thinking about.

This is a different quote. The one you are referring to is where they keep the congressman in the building so they vote, this was brought up with the original bailout bill when it failed. The "martial law in the us" quote was brought up to force some house members to change their vote.

The CB will be useless cause it will be full of idiots giving their opinion about who is responsible for all this. Just listen to it sometime. Very annoying.

If martial law is ever put in effect you will not be going any place. Martial law calls for suspension of most rights and you had better be at your BOL before the time. that is why it is so important not to wait till the authorities tell you that it is okay to leave.

The people who survived the Twin Towers were the ones who said to Hell with the go back to your offices routine and left the building. they used their heads and got out when the time was still right. those who followed orders and went back to their offices aren't with us today. God Bless you all and I hope you stay on top of the news. Get a short wave radio if you don't have one. Listen to foreign broadcasts as well as ones from here. You may have a day but not much more if things really go south.

Just bought one today Grinnan. I wanna listen to that Alex Jones guy and got a little tired of hunching over my computer to listen in every time. Anyway, I'm hoping it will also open up other sources of information as you alluded to.
Does anyone else, besides myself, believe that the goverment will jam the air waves to keep people like us from communicating?

If they've got the technology for microwave guns and anti-gravity craft...
I'd plan on walking to my BOL if I have to, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the internet being locked down when SHTF. The government would be stupid if they didn't have a plan for just about anything. When things go down I'll send out one email, or voicemail to one certain family member then grab my stuff and go. It won't even sound like a warning just something random and they will know.

Oh and for those who are paranoid around here on this site, the government without a doubt keeps an eye and reads what is posted here.

They better start hiring more people to monitor or have some kind of AI that flags certain posts. Who knows.
There are eyes and ears everywhere.
When did we lose our country?
The Canadian government has a listening center that it openly says monitors communication and has an AI looking through the Internet traffic and cell phones if we have it your CIA/FBI guys do as well. Our listening post is only used on open transmission mediums. Unless they go through due process and get the ability to tap your phone. The simple fact is they can look at your email, Internet traffic and cell phone at any time. Even a cordless phone is open as it is transmitted over the air waves. So if you are really paranoid the Internet does not give you freedom from the government if they really wanna find you a Tor server is the only way to be sure your secure which is illegal to use in some countries. Course you could avoid the Internet or not do anything illegal

I think that's entirely possible rridge. How many broadcasters do you think would even fight back if the stations were taken over in person? Not many I imagine.

between the Patriot act and two new power grants in the past 2 months- Due process doesn't mean much to the bureau anymore. And with 7- count em, SEVEN intelligence agencies- one of them HAS to be dedicated to CONUS ops.

I am pretty sure that they will try their best to control all communications and news media so that they can control the spin and not let anyone know just how bad things really are.
Difficult or impossible to stop the HAMS from talking though. We have capability on just about every freq and mode if need be. We have sats, repeaters, echolink, packet, super efficient digital modes such as PSK, or morse, and an appropriate freq for any time of day or method of propagation. We have methods of selecting and filtering or suppressing different unwanted signals from our comms. It's easier to interfere with channelized comms, comms that rely on networks, and local FM commercial stations.
