A few friends and I are planning a trip to the Arapaho National Forest in Colorado. There are tons of camp grounds available in the forest, but we're not sure whats right for us. We're looking for something with primitive camping available along with some hiking trails close by. Can anyone suggest a good fit?

Check out Big Bear Lake, its I think about a 4 or 6 mile hike to get there but well worth it. Make sure you prepare yourself for the elevation change no matter where you. Also, this goes without saying, prepare for the weather. Some days in Colorado can have a 60 degree temp difference between day and night.

Get a forest map and drive some of the roads and find a spot with no one around. You can hike anywhere you want.
