That is very cool. My grandfather loved birds, he would be intrigued by it. All the while fighting off them damn squirrels. Boy they would make him mad.

 

Went down to Featherfest in Galveston last weekend and saw a painted bunting. An indigo bunting, too. Hadn't even known those birds existed before that. Beautiful birds.

 

Birding is a great hobby that makes most all outdoor activity more interesting. I keep a feeder outside the window next to my favorite chair.

 

One showed up at the bird feeder about three weeks ago. Just the one. It's been years since we saw the first one ever here.

I see Indigo buntings here sometimes... There's a particular tall grass they visit for the seeds... The only thing that I've ever seen them interested in...

I can't see the video, but with us still having snow on the ground with the lakes still iced up, I would love to see all of your spring birds. I just thrilled to hear the Sandhill cranes in the distance. Feel free to share pictures, I'd love to see them.

 

I’ve been seeing them for a couple years now but this year is the first adult males in full color. Wanted to add that this is in coastal NC.

 

I've seen an Indigo at me feeder once, never seen painted.

 

Don’t believe we have them in my neck of the woods. At least, I’ve never seen one. Pretty thing.

 

What a strange coincedence you posted this.
I'm in Fl.,when surfing the FWC website,they have a section listing tickets monthly by region.
In the Tampa area,they have been cracking down on people that trap them,and sell or keep in cages.
I'm guessing by the names..its a certain population that has a tradition or belief it brings luck.Keeping one outside in a cage,will attract others to the traps.
