My Grandson came over today. He’s deciding what to call me. Everyone was asking what do you want to call me? Grandpa? Papaw?

He decided to call me “Thor”.

I’ll take it. 😂

As a new Grandpa, I thought it would be funny if my granddaughter called me "Grandfather". My wife and kids were not happy. LOL Anyway, it didn't take, she calls me papa. I love it.

My son instructed his daughters to call me "papa." They weren't given a choice. They live literally next door to her parents, who are grandpa and grandma.

I fully plan to disinherit my son.

My uncle is Pop Pop.

My Dad is "Grand-dad".

My grandfathers died well before my birth.

When I was growing up we used to refer to the grandmothers (I had 3 due to Dad remarrying) as "Grandma [last name]"

I lucked up with poppy or pop when she's really working me.

My nephews called my mom (their grandmother) cummin
early on kept hearing grandma's coming, and the cummin part stuck worked out great! It fit perfectly for all the years.

Go out and get yourself a nice 3 pound Estwing forged steel sledge hammer and repaint it with THOR on the side. It will last forever and you can give it to him when he grows up.

My grandson calls me "Gunny". Now I admit that I was never one in the Corps but was a SFC in the Army and my DIL started calling me Gunny. It stuck. It's a good name.

First grandson couldn't get grandpa or grampa out, so I was Bumpa for a couple years, but it didn't stick

Must be nice to have grandkids. Sure wish I had some. Ex and I never had kids. Adopted son will probably never marry. He can't even manage his own life, even living with the ex.
