Things are heating up again. Britain decided to cruise a destroyer along the coast of Crimea. Russia tried to run it off, Britain just ignored them. Russia even got to the point of firing warning shots and dropping bombs in front of the destroyer and they did nothing, eventually continuing on to the Black Sea. A reporter on the ship exposed things as a witness plus pictures and audio of the ship being buzzed and the crew at battle stations, the Royal Navy denied anything happened, The Russians posted all the video of them buzzing the ship, commercial satellite photos show the whole thing, Royal Navy still denied it.

Russia has now said that if the UK does it again the bombs will be on target. UK says fine, but they're going to do it again. China is jumping in as well saying that if Russia starts shooting they're going to join in and start shooting too.

We could be looking at anything from an international incident to WW3. Totally unknown, but everyone seems primed to pick a fight. It's also Taiwan invasion season still. They have until the end of July before the weather turns too bad. Might be a good time to check those major war preps and plans. We're thinking of breaking down and just getting a traditional large storm shelter put in to tide us over until we can eventually get the underground house built.

It's going to be a long summer. It might just be a coincidence but General Flynn just said something a few days ago in a interview that he felt something was going to happen before summer is over , because something is coming and tptb want a distraction could be a designer black swan type event but he was more inclined to believe a false flag. In the financial sector the Brits and the USA are in a financial bind and China is flush with cash and so is Russia. All wars throughout history have been about one resource or another. And Western civilization is probably about to be in the fight of their lives. That's going to make WW2 pale in comparison. The West should have loaned Gorbachev 50 billion when he asked for it and we should have made Russia a full NATO member back then as well. But we didn't 6 months later Yeltsin and Putin deposed him in a soft coup. If memory serves me correctly it happened at the end of 41 beginning of 42 maybe either way it was a diplomatic and strategic blunder of biblical proportions.

NATO was specifically created to counter the Communist countries alliance lead by the Soviets, to put it historically: that's like the allies inviting the Nazi's at the height of WWII.

True but the Soviet union had already crumbled by then and If the West wouldn't have been blinded with the corruption of chicom cash we wouldn't be in the position we find ourselves in today. Putin wouldn't have come to power most likely.

We've fought the Soviets in Korea, Vietnam, Grenada and there have actually been few large scale Air to air combat between the airforce immediately at the end of WWII in Southeast Asia with heavy losses on both sides. A good book is by a Chinese historian call "Red Wings over the Yalu" and the History Channel did a whole hour episode on it.

True enough but a Russian federation shaped by Gorbachev would be much different than where we currently find ourselves dealing with a Warlord like Putin And a USA , Russian alliance back then could have put the Chicoms in a pickle now we're the ones that are in a precarious situation.

Maybe. maybe not time will tell. I believe Putin and Ji are about the same age. And if they want to bask in their glory so to speak. The USA has never given them a better opportunity. In my lifetime.

Nope. More like inviting the generals that killed Hitler (if they had managed it) to come sit at the table and figure things out.

Gorbachev wanted to fix his country and it’s “partners”, loosening the reins. But he also wanted to preserve a Soviet Union and communism, and that is why they dumped him so fast, all the puppet states wanted out, and most got out due to Gorbachev‘s ”open” ideas, which left him with a failed plan. Yeltsin and others openly rebelled, also wanting to open up the political scene, and the economics, but preserve the USSR, by force if needed, and he had nowhere to turn.
Obviously, the force idea did not work out either, Yeltsin became president of Russia, not the USSR, and screwed the pooch in so many ways, despite implementing capitalism and other positive moves.

And then...Putin. He was handed a mess made out of oligarchs and criminal monopolies and he made it work for most of the people. That’s something, no matter what you think about his politics or tactics or international moves.

Not that any of them were good guys. But compared to where they started....they did a lot of good along with the bad.

And the West won the cold war and their actions in some cases and lack of actions in others and usually for all the wrong reasons and motives are likely to be the undoing of Western Civilization and more than few of those in leadership positions made those decisions did so deliberately usually out of greed some out of arrogance , Ideology , stupidity and or a combination of all the above.

Video from the Russian Coast Guard ship including warning shots with a Kashtan (equivalent of a phalanx). Brits were baiting. Regardless of legitimate ownership, Russia already occupies the territory and it was a clear aggressive move. If you want to start a war with Russia and take back Crimea just do it and be upfront about it. They're trying to force Russia into firing the first shot so they can play innocent and play it for a domestic audience that the Russians just attacked their ship randomly for no reason. A US destroyer that was nearby was apparently on standby to assist and just left the black sea, so the US Navy was in on it too. US and UK both have carriers sitting on the other side of the Bosporus. Both of these destroyers were detached from their carrier groups for this with the rest of the group ready to storm into the Black Sea if the Russians hit the ship.

Russia's deputy foreign minister Sergey Ryabkov has vowed to bomb a British warship the next time it sails too close to Crimea after warning shots were fired at HMS Defender on Wednesday.
