Off road trailer.

Been thinking of building one of these for awhile. Thought it would come in handy for camping and be alot better than pulling my 5 x 10 utility trailer. My buddy runs a fab shop so basically all I would be out is cost of materials which I would buy a little at a time until I had all required for project. Does anyone have or has any one built one simular to this one?

Pics would be nice if you have one, I'm trying to get ideas.
Take a look at Pikes Peak trailers.

I'm building mine to look similar, but slightly bigger.

Thats what I was gonna say, look for a m101 trailer...

If you are dead-set on building your own, make sure you don't use a straight across axle like in the OP. you probably want to build it with ground clearance in mind.
Just a thought, but if you set up a trailer, with a straight axle, and run the same tires as the vehicle towing it, won't the trailer still get more ground clearance than the towing vehicle?

I'm certain a standard m101 including the a1, a2, or a3 all have a straight axle...if it didn't it was modified.

monkee, it will have a coupe more inches of ground clearance because it will not have the "pumkin" gear differential.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin'.
I'm just trying to figure out why you "Shouldn't use a straight axle", as leftyz put it.
