Starting on ones I own currently, I have only a few expensive knives. A few loved BM (Grip, and 15020), as well as a Spyderco Native that I love. I tend to shutter at an expensive knife being damaged, so the 2 BMs, and the Native haven't seen much action. I guess it depends on your definition of expensive, but at my stage in life 50 plus is expensive.

I was talked into getting an Endura. I didn't like it from Japan, but was educated on Seki-City's history with blade making. I bought an Endura 4 about 3 months ago.....and I'm amazed! I'm actually using it due to the 50 dollar price tag, vs. the more expensive blades I have.

The grind is amazing, and the edge is beefy but razor sharp. It came scary sharp, and has stayed this way. It's almost like it's gotten sharper the more I use it.

I'm in AZ, we sweat alot here in Summer. I don't worry about the Endura taking it, with the VG-10 it's showing no signs of rusting. Same with the liners they look fine. I know it's in my head, I understand this, but with all that sweat I really don't want to take out the BMs, or the Native, just due to the price, not the function.

The knife is thinner and longer than the Griptilian, and much lighter. I hate to say it, but in terms of a knife to use, I'm solid with the Endura vs. the others I have that are more expensive. I've carried it since I got it, and don't see that I will change until Winter, to the 15020 more than likely.

Endura Love!

I have the Spyderco Stretch which is very similar to the Endura only the blade steel is a new alloy called "ZDP-189." After opening the box and messing with it awhile it became my EDC that very moment. I've used it as a box, rope, and wire cutter ever since and haven't even had to think about sharpening it.

Drkknight614, it's hollow ground. The FFG was a bit more expensive, and I compared stats on both and found the FFG is a bit thinner of a blade on top. Probably no big deal, but it's what I ended up on.

ActionJackson, I've been drooling over the stretch, but can only find them for around 80 bucks in the VG10 version. It's on the list for the future.....hopefully near future.

I am a huge Spyderco fan. I just got the Stretch a few weeks ago. It's an amazing blade. Spyderco hit the ball out of the park with this one.

The stretch was one of Spydercos first designs. Its on my list, its got a good blade shape with good belly. Zpd-189 is one of those super steels like S30V. Zpd does hold an edge and is supposedly resistant to chipping which is good considering hard steels are prone to thise. And zpd is hard, 66-68 hrc. If you got the equipment its a manageable steel. But if you cant sharpen it, then the benefits are sorta useless. Spyderco is one of the only knife companies offering folders with this steel though, and on numerous models. Personally I havent felt the need to jump onto some of these super steels. If theres a knife design I really like Ill go, but Im just as satisfied with vg10 or 154CM.
