Now the Hell Will Start: One Soldier's Flight from the Greatest Manhunt of World War II by Brendan I. Koerner

I read this over the summer and was wondering if anyone hear had read it. I thought it was pretty amazing. It's the story of a black GI that gets fed up with all the conditions of building the Ledo Road (cutting a road through Indo-China jungles in the 1940s ). Tough to complain about my job after reading that book. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away but he basically reaches a breaking point and just runs out of the army camp into the middle of the jungle, living amongst the natives, becoming a sort of folk hero amongst those people.

Good read
