Ok, No long explaining.
Just Yes or No.

If the electric grid went down for whatever reason and the local gas station was closed could you have basic electricity to keep the freezer running, cook basic meals, and flush your toilet?

Yes or No answers Only.! Honest replies only..... 3 weeks with no grid power and no fuel on your area.

Yes.

We would need to water haul though. Or liberate a diesel trailer generator to power the HOA's well(s).

The question is will the ammo hold out after everyone goes crazy on day two or three. ;)

I only "need" electricity for the fridge and freezer. Portable solar panel can top up the battery that can run one at a time to keep them limping along indefinitely, weather permitting.

Cooking is propane, got 6mo-1yr of that.

Flushing and washing are rain water, 2500 gallons stored uphill of the house and able to gravity feed into the rain manifold. Just need to re-route a couple garden hoses to make that happen.

Even laundry is ok, got the wood stove to heat water, got a mangle for squeezing the wet clothes so I don't ruin my wrists hand-washing like my mother did.

Drinking and cooking come out of the gravity water filter, which can fill from water out of the rain manifold or the well, whichever.

The question is will the ammo hold out after everyone goes crazy on day two or three. ;)
Out here we get power outages of 1-2 weeks at times, and the social order remains unscathed.

For about 7 plus months of the year, I don’t need electricity to keep the food in the freezer frozen, and yes for the other months. I missed the water part, no issue as I could draw water from the well by hand if needed. And well water is only one of several sources.

Yes, this last week of arctic cold has let me test the waters so to say. It is an inconvenience, but more than easy enough. For a lot of people thinking they can, it wont happen. I have been using alternative approaches to what most people just take for granted. Or is that granite?

The one big hurdle is having enough water. You will need so much more than what anyone has posted previously.

I didnt see this thread until after posting a similar one. But could be a lot of cross over between them.
