Game on the panic begins.

Went to the local Academy sports store yesterday. I was actually in there for a pair of boots. After finding what I wanted. I decided to wonder by the firearms section. The gun racks were almost empty and the ammo isle looks like the paper goods isle at Walmart stripped bare. Got up to the checkout the guy at the register had worked in sporting goods yesterday and was talking about how many people were in there buying guns. Looks like its going to be a good year for gun and toilet paper manufactures.

Yeppers, bullets, beans and toilet paper...lol

You live in an area that is prone to hurricanes one of the things you make sure you have enough of is toilet paper. As for ammo, if haven't stocked up over the last several years when its been plentiful and cheap then it shouldn't be a shock when there is none in times like these, not only is there this virus BS but its also an election year

All over the news people are lining up at gun stores to buy guns. Some of the socialist leaning states are seeing a spike in gun sales. I wonder what people niw think about those gun laws they wanted?

Posting a video by Tom Poole who is doing an excellent job covering the Coronavirus outbreak.

I wonder if people who live in left leaning states would give interviews about what they think about the gun control laws now? A global pandemic is upon us, and now people have to go through a waiting period and jump through hoops to buy a gun.

Hopefully things will not so bad people think they need to use guns.

Im in a cyclone zone as we call hurricanes here and flood zone and the town has had about a dozen such events in the last 40 years. I have never seen people hoard toilet paper before. Its ridiculous. I even wondered if its a 'power of suggestion' social experiment by the government to see how easy it is to brainwash us into throwing our money away for no good reason. Bizarrest thing I have seen. Retarded even.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with this. Waving background checks for people panic buying weapons seems like a bad idea.
Why is it a bad idea for people to exercise their rights?

It isn't a bad thing. However someone buying a gun out of pure panic doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence. Ideally I would like people who buy guns at least have a cursory knowledge of gun safety, or at least the willingness to learn such. Not just grabbing the nearest weapon because they think someone will steal their toilet paper.

None are. It is just people are mentioning how restrictive gun laws are and how people can't just randomly walk in and get guns off the shelf with no checks.
Background checks are mandated by the Brady Bill. Exemptions have been added for people who have a concealed carry permit.
