Hi all,

Living in New Zealand, and with the Christchurch earthquake in Feb this year, followed by all the after shocks, suddenly realise how seriously unprepared my family was. Not that I did not know what to do, I have even had the training, just too blase.

Big wake up call.

Welcome Much to learn here. Things to ponder follow:

Have a BOL?

Self-sufficient? Garden? Stored food?

Reload? Cast bullets? Practice with your firearms?

Practice permaculture? Gather wild foods?

Hiya Provider (great name!), nice to see another kiwi here! We are Prepared here, as I live in Christchurch city. Almost on the East, nearer to the city... Right on the edge of some of the Red zone. Our biggest joy throughout things was being able to use the garden to eat from, it meant our supplies lasted well. This growing season our garden is four times the size and we have so much more variety. We are learning to store/dry/bottle what we cant use immediately. By the second eq we were up and running, and thank god for composting toilets :) How are you doing with your preparation, are you in the city, or the surrounding area?
