Those have been out for about a year. It is a typical uv light device, but has a neat feature where you can charge it in the field with most any battery you have. Unfortunately, it had some quality issues initially, which put off a number of original users. Don't know if they have corrected the problems yet or not. If they have, it is a pretty good water treatment option at a light weight for backpacking and a good price. I'll try and see what is going on with this device and let you know. Best of luck.

Or just make your own straw with some charcoal
