hey yall im lookin for a new job somthing that im out side is my only requirement im open to moving to texas tennessee alabama mississippi missouri arkansas georgia or louisiana i aint tied down to nothing here in kentucky except that i love it and its my home but anyways im askin yall for suggestions on jobs and states to live in so lets here it

They need roughnecks for the oil boom going on in Wellston South Dakota. I understand that it's cold as hades though.
That is NOT a good place to move, the extra money you can make is eaten up by sky high rents and cost of living.

If you want to try the oilfields, Texas would be much better but if you move to one of the boom town such as Midland/Odessa, the rents are sky high there. Try around Abilene, there are several drilling Co.s there. They are smaller company's but they have lots of work.

Try Ringo Drilling, Sidewinder Drilling(Formerly Union Drilling-Texas), Bandera Drilling. They all have yards in Abilene, TX so should be in the telephone book

I cannot say how long it will last but like any industry it has ups and downs. I would say probably at least 3 or 4 years till the next crash. You could rack up some good money and save it. I worked the rigs back in the late 80's to mid 90's and made out good.
