Okay, I'll bite. There are only 9 Double Os. Bond retired. His number was assigned to a new agent, not retired. I don't have a problem with that.

However it would be a blasphemy to give the name to anything but a white male given the character's back story. For James Bond to be anything but a white male would required a complete revision of the character's history, or what made Bond Bond.

Having said all that, if the franchise wants to retire James Bond fine. If you do you got to call it something else.

I would have picked a more seasoned actress like Halle Berry. I liked the older/classier Bonds. She could invoke some of that coolness.

As mentioned above, all the things that make the Bond films interesting to men, cannot exist with a female lead.

 

You should be interested. It's just another notch in the white mans coffin. It'll get to a point where we'll have to fight for our lives because there will be open season on middle-aged white guys. And it won't be a crime for them to execute us, but will be for us to defend ourselves. Much like it is now when we defend our homes from the scumbags... but soon, we'll be the ones classified as scumbags.

I was going to break weak and go see JW III. BUT I procrastinated to long and missed it unless I want to drive over to Moscow on the Colorado. Perhaps the universe was looking out for me on this one.

 

The first one with Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) was a great Bond movie, the 2nd (QOS) one was crap, the 3rd (Skyfall) was okay & I never even bothered with the 4th one & having heard how awful it was, not too excited to watch it, if I ever do. This crap will just confirm I don't need to watch anymore of them. Been a huge bond fan since I was a kid. One of the few movies I went to just with my dad. First Bond movie (I remember) seeing in the theater was "The Spy Who Loved Me" We went to every Bond movie including "Never Say Never Again" until "A View to a Kill" together, so apart from being just a fan of the movies, the franchise has a lot of sentimental attachment for me, & while I know not all Bond movies were or will be great, this kind of tinkering doesn't help. Just like during the Pierce Brosnan movies they said they were going to have him sleeping with less women which was just more unnecessary PC crap. They also made M a female, which I didn't mind so much as they weren't going to have her as some bad ass field agent fighting off some huge bad ass or multiple attackers. This however is just a PC move too far for me.

 

We will have to see. She is the agent assigned to the 007 number. James Bond is still played by Daniel Craig. Guessing some kind of retirement but brought back to handle some threat. I don't think even Hollywood would try to have James Bond played by a female actor. It just wouldn't work or sell
