Im not trying to get any more scared than I already am but what is the deal with Marshall Law in Jan?? I read a few posts and that really doesnt give me much time. My family has no idea and I am just getting started. Feeling kinda behind the 8 ball..... Please - any advice in a check list type of format would be very appreciated!

The absolute worst thing you could do is to panic.

Stop.

Realize that you've already done more than most of the population by becoming aware of the situation, and deciding to do something about it. That puts you ahead of the game already.

Figure out what you've already got - skills, supplies, equipment.
Figure out what you need, again - skills, supplies, equipment - and start acquiring them.

After you've assembled your needs you can start thinking about what you want.

Start small and expand as rapidly as you are able. Knowledge is Power so gather as much as you can when the canned food runs out knowing things will get you by even if you have never done them at least you have some Background.

Ask questions, take notes, practice what you learn. Look in the groups section there are groups for about every state and they even have get togethers often. BJ, just as in any situation where you face a threat of some sort, chill and think. There is a lot in this site that is conjecture, and some is just plain ole B.S.. Check what you read against common snese, and what you may have read elsewhere. It's not likley that this is the ONLY place where something not commonly known will be revealed.

Take your time and consider how someone's scenario plays out, and ask yourself if it is reasonable... not POSSIBLE, but REASONABLE.

Also, don't get too focussed on one thing. Spread out your thoughts and considerations, and take in the practicle knowledge as you find it. If you get too focussed on the bad news, you'll end up with tunnel vision and miss the everyday crap that comes along to mess with you.

Thank you for posting the link to that article. I'm glad I read it. I might make some of my family members read it.

As a survivalist newbie - just like being a newbie at anything - it takes a while to get up to speed... But articles like that help you to hit the ground running.
