So my old gas mask was beginning to suffer from dry rot and I decided to spend some money for once and buy a new one. Looking around the internet for a good one, I found a yahoo based business called Botach Tactical. Looking through they had a Scott M110 mask with 2 filters for $195 and a RX glasses adapter for $12. On all other sites the mask was $275 and the RX adapter was $25. So a little over $200 for $300 worth of stuff, what a deal? Well on top of that they had a 10% off coupon code. Best deal ever right? Wrong.
After I put the order through and I got the conformation email I checked the shipping status. Normally most sites say "Not shipped yet" or something, but there was nothing listed. I called their customer service line and their representative could hardly speak English, he had an oriental accent. Now I'm not a racist in any way, but if you cant speak English get the hell out. After a few minutes with this guy I asked to speak to his supervisor who had a fake Australian accent. (Like cheap movie fake). I was thinking "What a joke, are these guys serious?" But I was assured that it would be shipped. I contemplated calling my credit card company and canceling the order, but I thought I would give it a day. Well I checked 24 hours later and it shipped with a UPS tracking number. I looked into the number and UPS confirmed the package was sent out.
Now in total I spent $202 on $300+ worth of stuff. Now thats a good deal, but their customer service was worse than calling India. Plus I also looked into the company on various review sites ad some other forums and they seem to be a mix of reviews. Some say its a great company, some say its the worst. So you'd be taking a risk ordering from them. I'm pleased with the price, but I don't intend on ordering from them again.
