Just bought a new left hand bolt action savage. Now Im looking into buying a scope but dont really know much about scopes. Would like to keep the scope price with in reason up to $250 or so. Not looking a making 1000 yd shots but it would be nice to be able to reach out 500yds and be on. Any advise would be great.

Basic Leupold 3x9x40 wouldn't be a bad idea.

I THINK they are about in your price range. (I buy mine used for $100-$150)

Thanks Nomad for the info Ill continue to research the many scopes that are out there. Lots to learn about them.
