since im deployed currently and given the current situation with the new pres elect and the possible gun bans and what not ive been buying ammo online. i usually buy from one place and ive been looking for 223 ammo. the only fmj brands they have are the following:

Sellier and Bellot
Federal American Eagle
Fiocchi
Mil-Surp Battle Pack

i have experiece shooting military ammo given im in the military but i prefer civilian ammo. that being said does anyone have any experience with these brands?

dont get FMJ ,get hunting rounds, they do more damage to the body than FMJ. :thumb:

like all weapons we can both have bought the same brand of AR15 made one after the other. take them out to the range and your AR will fire sellier and bellot with tighter shot grps than mine does useing the same ammo but mine shoots tigher shot grps useing fiocchi than yours does. EACH and every weapon likes its own differnt ammo brand/weight. truely the only thing helpful ppl can tell you about those brand is if it jams alot ,dirty ,alot of duds..ect. but they cant tell you which one will fire best out of YOUR weapon that must be learned by trial and error by you

sorry maybe i shouldve been more specific. im not looking for what shoots the best im just looking for well made, reliable ammo. i know as a shooter you have to do your part just as much as the right brand of ammo.

There are only two choices.

One, buy the one you want, and work with it.

Two, buy a box of each and take the weapon to the range. Select the correct type that your gun likes best. Then stock that type.

.223 rifles are pretty finicky, so the best advice is option two. Select the wrong one and you have a weapon that fails to function properly.

Well there is option three. Step up and pay for Lake City and be done with it.
